Ghani Movie Review: Varun Tej, Jagapathi Babu, Saiee Manjrekar and Upendra starrer sport based movie Ghani has hit the theaters today on 8th April 2022. Let’s see the story of Ghani.
Story: Ghani (Varun Tej) wants to win a medal for boxing at the nationals. He is the son of 2004 Andhra Pradesh state boxing champion, Vikramaditya (Upendra). He becomes the district boxing champion against his mother’ (Nadiya) will. She doesn’t want him to be associated with anything that disgraced his father, who was also a boxer. When Ghani comes to know about the past and the injustice happened to his father through Vijendra Sinha (Suniel Shetty), an opponent to his father once, he decided to take Ghani revenge. What happens next, form rest of the story.
- Varun Tej
- Title song
- Production Values
- Predictable story
Performance: Varun Tej has given his energetic performance as a boxer in Ghani. He is good in a few emotional scenes. His six-pack body look and chiseled body is highlighted. Saiee Manjrekar in the role of girl friend is ok. She looks beautiful on screen. Once again Jagapathi Babu steals the show with his performance. Upendra is good in the supporting role. He gets a major and important role as Varun Tej’ father. Sunil Shetty plays the coach of Varun Tej and does well. His acting skills are commendable. Naresh as a boxing coach is fine. Naveen Chandra as the boxing competitor to Varun, excelled in his role. Rest of the cast of Ghani justify their roles.
Technical: The story of Ghani is predictable. The Cinematography by George C Willaims has a realistic texture to it and the boxing scenes are shot well. Background music makes an impact. Dialogues are an asset. Editing is fine and the Production values are good. Coming on the work of director Kiran Korrapati, he did a decent job with this film based on boxing.
Analysis: The first half is decent. The interval twist is good. It splits time between Ghani’s home life and Maya’s (Saiee Manjrekar) infatuation with him. Varun Tej puts his sweat and blood for this film, the viewers can clearly observe it in the 2nd half .The movie banks heavily on everything from mother sentiment to the love story.
