Born Konidela Shiva Shankara Vara Prasad, megastar Chiranjeevi’ success story has spanned over decades. Despite his stardom, megastar Chiranjeevi remains humble and continues to inspire the new generation with his cinematic and philanthropic work. He started his acting career with Punadirallu which was released in 1978, but Pranam Khareedu turned out to be the first flick that released in theatres. Manavoori Pandavulu brought him recognition as an actor.
Did you know that there was a time when Chiranjeevi earned more than Bollywood megastar Bib B aka Amitabh Bachchan? For his 1992 Telugu film Aapadbandhavudu, which was directed by K Viswanath, megastar Chiranjeevi was paid a remuneration of Rs 1.25 Cr which was supposedly the highest salary ever paid to a Telugu actor at that time. He was the first Indian actor who received Rs Cr remuneration for a film.
Apparently, Indra fame Chiranjeevi even surpassed Amitabh Bachchan during that phase when the Bollywood megastar was charging Rs 1 Cr per project.
Megastar Chiranjeevi was supposed to make his debut in Hollywood with the movie The Return of the Thief of Baghdad? The film went on the floors in 1999 but later the project got shelved.
Now he has number of projects in Kitty- Acharya, Godfather and Bholaa Shankar which are in the different production stages.
