PRAHAR, a non-profit organization, has advocated for a ban on the PUBG/BGMI app, citing national security concerns. “In the interest of India’s sovereignty and integrity… and to prevent millions of unsuspecting players from falling victim to the Chinese trap”, the NGO wrote to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeiTY), asking for the app to be banned under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act.
